Our family relationships are the most important human connection we have and have the power to hurt or heal us. We take a collaborative, family-centered approach and use brief, solution-focused and evidence-based treatment methods. Our therapists listen deeply, empathically and non-judgmentally and seek to understand your feelings and beliefs to help create a new and empowering story about who you are. We will teach you how to identify old, limiting beliefs that interfere with your relationships, your sense of purpose, and inner peace. We will work on healing that unhealthy relationship with yourself so that you may embrace a new one that is whole, genuine, and resilient. And, we will work on restoring your family relationships with authentic, safe and healing communication, teaching the art of compromise, and restore bonding and attachment that has been challenged by difficult times, loss, trauma, emotional injuries, addiction and mental health issues.

We offer individual counseling for adults, teens and children, family counseling, couple/marital counseling. We also offer Telehealth services. We treat anxiety, depression, bi-polar disorder, chronic anger, personality disorders, women’s issues, trauma, grief and loss or coping with stress or inevitable changes in life that challenge us in so many ways. We will assist your family with blending, parenting, step-parenting, and coping with and addressing behavioral and emotional issues and disorders including ADHD, autism, developmental disorders, and mood disorders. We provide help to couples and families suffering from relationship problems, intimacy issues, divorce, physical and mental illness, loss, or trauma.

We provide counseling services to Plainfield, Romeoville, Shorewood, Joliet, Oswego, Naperville, Yorkville, Bolingbrook, and Aurora and the surrounding areas in Will County, IL.

Taking the first step is always the hardest! Let’s walk and discover a new path together. I have worked with various issues such as anxiety, depression, grief, loss, trauma, panic and adjustment to life issues and chronic illness, and caregiver support. I have successfully treated children and teens with a range of emotional and behavioral issues. I have worked on parenting issues, ADHD, attachment concerns, difficulties adjusting and emotional coping difficulties. I have treated PTSD and adult survivors of abuse.

I take a relational and psychodynamic approach to counseling. We will explore together what symptoms you are experiencing and how this is impacting your life, your body and health, and your relationships. We will explore your coping style and work to build on this. We will discover what your values are and what barriers are standing between you and the new way you wish to approach life. We will explore healthy choices that will further your growth and success. My goal is to tailor my interventions to your specific needs.

I have a special interest in working with survivors of trauma and have received additional trainings for PTSD and resiliency. I have a background in the expressive arts and enjoy incorporating this into my practice. I also utilize mindfulness with an understanding of how the mind and body work together on issues incorporating the neuroscientific theory. I believe that the more you know and understand yourself, the better equipped you will be to make your own powerful and lasting changes and to find your path of joy and happiness.

Hey, how’s it going? My name is Jackie and here’s the thing… I am a nerdy, artsy-fartsy, book worm. Phew! You have no idea how badly I’ve wanted to tell you that. Anyway, now that we have that out of the way, I primarily work with children (ages 6 and up), adolescents, young adults, and women that are feeling stressed, anxious, depressed, and not 100%. I also have experience working with children that are on the Autism spectrum. I understand that it can be overwhelming. I mean, you’ve seen how many therapists are in your area. And what’s with all those letters after their names? Jeez! Just know that you are not alone.

When I first meet someone, I want to get to know them as a person and how I can help. We will work together as a team, yes a team, to help you become the person that you want to be. I create interventions that are made specifically for a certain person, and are a combination of evidence-based strategies and creative interventions.

I strive to create a strong therapeutic relationship with my clients that is based on trust and respect. Together, we are stronger and will walk on this journey of life to get you or your child through whatever is troubling you or your child. So, what are you waiting for? I’m ready to listen, because I would just read your mind, but I’m not that cool.

Trust, Passion and Communication are core elements of my strengths-based and client- centered treatment. I take a trauma-informed approach focusing on more than just symptoms. I seek to help you identify negative beliefs that are holding you back and help you discover where these began and forge a new direction on your path to healing.

I have successfully treated anxiety and depression by taking a holistic approach and working towards your goals and vision for your life. We will explore your sleeping and nutrition habits, and daily activities to improve your mood and well-being.

I have a passion to help those adjusting to new chapters in their life or may be experiencing career changes, relationship difficulties or loss.  I have helped both men and women navigate these life transitions.

I have successfully treated teens and children in various school settings with a range of issues such as ADHD, academic difficulties, social challenges, etc.

My non-judgmental approach and empathic stance have enabled me to create a safe space for couples and families to understand negative patterns, improve self-awareness, understand each other and begin healthy and open communication. I will help you identify your love language and understand aspects of your personality that can be utilized to improve your relationships while also enhancing your feelings of well-being.

As a certified nutritionist, I have specialized experience and have successfully treated food related addictive behaviors, binge eating and emotional food issues.

I have gained my experience working in a number of environments including schools, hospitals, community mental health, crisis response, juvenile and adult prison and domestic violence settings with individuals ranging in age from 5 to 80 years old. Whatever your age, gender or affiliation, together we will build a vision and achieve this by accomplishing your goals of the life you’ve always imagined. Let’s start together now.
